Antiants "FARM & FUN OUTING" (events)
Date: 01/11/09
Venue: Singapore
Once again, Antiants staff hopped on the tourist coach for another breakaway for the first weekend of November. This time, the outing was of educational type, yet without the usual monotonous boredom that would usually tag along.

After breakfast, the first destination was a goat farm in Lim Chu Kang. The coach arrived just in time for the highlight of the visit, which was the milking session. For those who have never seen a goat with own eyes, let alone touched it, this was indeed an eye-opening experience for them. Everyone also had a chance to sample goat milk distributed in bottles, courtesy of Hay Dairies Pte Ltd.

Aside from the milking session and a short tour around the farm, Antiants staff members were also put to challenge in a brief treasure hunting game where Antiants logos were hidden all over the farms and highest number of logos collected would be rewarded.

The next farm visited was not just any ordinary vegetable farm one could come across. In fact, this farm was the first aeroponic farm in the world. Instead of using soil in traditional farm or water in hydroponic farm, the crops were grown in air or mist environment, a method which is more environment-friendly and claimed to boost the nutritional benefits of the crops. Visiting an aeroponic farm was indeed one-of-a-kind!
Everyone was treated to a unique concoction of lettuce juice, proudly made of the farm’s produce, and also to an introductory video on aeroponic system after touring around the farm. Throughout the entire tour, all staff continued to keep eyes open for more Antiants logos for the treasure hunt.
After spending half day visiting goat farm and aeroponic farm, it was time for a sumptuous lunch in HomeTeamNS clubhouse in Bukit Batok. The staff took this opportunity to mingle around over food among new and senior employees.

For all who relentlessly searched high and low for Antiants logos throughout both farm visits, the next event was the most anticipated one – the prize-giving session! After counting the number of logos collected by each staff, one of our service technician emerged as the winner with the highest number of logos collected.

The last visit was to NEWater visitor centre located at a NEWater plant in Bedok. NEWater is high-grade reclaimed water produced from treated used water that is purified further using advanced membrane technologies, making the water ultra-clean and safe to drink. The staffs were exposed to the NEWater system and Singapore water issue via a guided tour throughout the visitor centre.
Apart from understanding the fundamentals of NEWater technology, one important lesson one could bring home was that clean water is a precious commodity and prudent usage of water is pertinent for long-term sustainability.
The end of NEWater visit marked the end of the company outing as well. Hence it was a goodbye Sunday and a hello Monday!
ANTIANTS ANNUAL TRIP 2009 (EVENTS)
Midyear 2009 rolled in and once again, this called for another anticipated and exciting annual trip for Antiants! This time, it was the sandy beaches of Patong in Phuket, Thailand that beckoned Antiants staff to enjoy a breakaway holiday there.
Date: 8th August 2009 - 10th August 2009
Venue: Phuket, Thailand

The 3D 2N trip might not have a smooth start, no thanks to the three-hour flight delay. Nevertheless, this hiccup failed to dampen the air of enthusiasm and high spirit. In fact, everyone seemed to have fun keeping themselves busy for the extra hours. Handicraft, shopping, sightseeing, dining and photo-taking, you name it, we’ve done it – all within Changi airport!
Team games are among must-have events in every Antiants annual trip. After all, someone needs to break that ice!
Firstly, everyone warmed up in an ice-breaking game called Identity Swap before they played Bomb in groups. It turned out that the teams led by our Sales Manager and Operation Manager were the best Bombers of all.
The last game, but not the least, was Newspaper Island, in which teams of three needed to balance themselves on a piece of newspaper that halved at every turn. What interesting strategy and approach each team chose!
Left to right:
“Balancing three men on a small patch of newspaper is no easy task...”
“Hooray, our winning pose!”
“We girls are not going to give up that easily.”
Phuket had so many things to offer for everyone. From irresistible seafood, high-energy nightlife to shopping spree, free and easy holiday had never been so adrenaline-pumped, fun-filled and laughter-infectious than ever.
The highlight of the annual trip was island-hopping to Coral Island, nine kilometres southeast of Phuket. Everyone was thrilled with a plethora of beach activities to sample and savour. So much fun, yet so little time!
Left to right:
“Say cheese...”
“Going bananas for a rocky ride on banana boat.”
“Who can ever resist such relaxing atmosphere?”
“He goes a-sailing on parasailing.”
“On a mission to catch a glimpse of corals.”
“Coral Island – a wonderful destination for beach lovers.”
Finally, an Antiants group photo as a memento of our pleasant memories in Phuket...
Antiants 32nd Anniversary Celebration (events)
Reaching 32nd year of services in Singapore, Antiants chose Pulai Spring Resort in Johor, Malaysia, as a celebration spot. Upon arrival, everyone was lined up to start team building activities. There were 5 stages which were 1) building balloon tower, 2) stepping on wood pads, 3) solving riddles, 4) walking in sarong, and lastly 5) inventing a rocket. More surprisingly, the instructors proved us that our rockets really can fly high!
After fun activities, everyone proceeded to the restaurant for a sumptuous traditional Chinese meal. Everything just looked and tasted great! Later on, Mr. Tong Kien Seng, our General Manager, announced 2008 awards given to the respective winners, showing recognition of their commitment to Antiants. And last but not the least, we celebrated doubly for our staffs whose birthday lied in July.
At the end of the day, all the attendees didn’t only get prizes back, but also bring happiness home.
Happy 32nd Birthday, ANTIANTS!
Date: 27/7/08

Acquisition of Straits Termite Co. (Pte) Ltd (news)
We are pleased to announce that Straits Termite Co. (Pte) Ltd. has become a part of Antiants’ subsidiaries in assistance to extend extra mile services for our valued customers.
Straits Termite Co. (Pte) Ltd. is one of pioneer pest control companies in Singapore. Founded in 1945, it was entrusted by a number of local public sectors to provide a pest control service in protecting their assets & properties.
After many factors were taken into consideration, Antiants made proposal to Straits Termite to acquire such a historical firm and it eventually came to a successful agreement in November 2007. This is a good opportunity for Antiants stepping forward in order to cope with an upcoming aggressive competition in the Singapore’s pest control industry and excel our performance to a new height in this challenging era.
The merger has also formed a more efficient conglomerate with synergies in two areas: combined sales and technical talents to expedite our R&D and innovation; and increasing customer’s confidence level in our organization.
